Merry Christmas Eve

I had this picture in my camera, I thought it looked cool. Plus, everyone likes knowing that Rob and Marla are doing well. Aren't they just cute as buttons. Anyway, Merry Christmas Eve! We'll all be going to the Dumcombe's house tonight for dinner. Jen and Landon are coming back tonight. Things are good!

Together Forever

Well, it's official. My sister, Jen and, her now husband, Landon were married today. Landon's family flew in on Friday. Most of them leave tomorrow. They are a great family! The reception went well. Jen and Landon leave tomorrow for their honeymoon in Disneyworld.

Those crazy lovebirds! You can send wedding gifts to my house, just don't tell them and everyone will be happy. They said they'd want stuff that match my kitchen (coincidental it would seem). So, green or stainless steel. I could really use food... Ah, I mean, they'd probably really like food for my... er, their fridge. Hundred dollar bills are also cool - just don't send checks. Cash is my their favorite.

Rob loves lost

Hello everyone! Here are some fun pictures. Rob loves the tv show lost. He has seen the first season over 4 times. Once he finishes the season, he starts over again. In one of the shows, they tied up a character with Japanese knots. So Rob decided to learn how to tie them. Bri was his first victim. It was fun to watch. Bri got out every time, so Rob has some work to do!

Rob is doing very well. He is loving his helicopter. Bri and Rob stay downstairs flying and fixing their helicopters.

Remote Controlled

I bought this sweet remote controlled helicopter about a week ago. It's so dang fun to fly! Chicks dig me because of it! It helps me learn math! Sometimes it makes dinner! Other times it sings me bedtime songs! I love it! Once it even returned one of my clients phone calls so I didn't have to!!! Can you believe it? I can, because I own it!

Rob saw the wonderful things it was doing in my life and so he had no other choice but to buy one, too. When I say he had no choice, I mean it! An angel came down from heaven and commanded him to buy one! I'm not joking! It was totally awesome! (It was mostly awesome because the angel told me that I was rad because I had already bought one!)

Well, so there's an update. I must go now, my helicopter just finished making fruit smoothies! Yay! I love fruit smoothies (and I never even told my helicopter that before - holy cow)!

Portrait

Here's a before and after picture that I took of Mike, Shannon, Ethan, and Isabelle (see if you can count the differences - there are seven). I didn't crop the picture at all because they were going to use the "after" photo for a holiday card, and I, not knowing the dimensions, left it as is. Looking back, I probably should have included more in the shot (for better cropping options), but my lens isn't wide enough and I couldn't step back far enough (because there was a wall behind me).

I've kind of laid low on the whole portrait thing - because working with too many people can be a little nerve racking - but the kids were good, there were only a total of four individuals, and I think everything took approximately 10 minutes (I think I took a total of 13 pictures). I'm posting it because family that visit this site will appreciate it and also because I feel proud of it since it turned out so well (in my opinion, at least) - I feel like my photography skills are improving ever so slowly.

Now I just need to work on my bow-hunting skills.

Thunder (stolen)

Well, it was bound to happen sometime. Rob has gotten much better, neither him nor Marla update this blog as often, and I'm getting itchy to make a hostile takeover. I'm hoping that Rob and Marla continue to use this site to make whatever posts they'd like, but in the meantime, I'm gonna start making posts that may or may not be related to Rob or his state of health (sadly, the title area may change - but seeing as I'm lazy, it probably won't for quite some time - just preparing you for the shock).

I will try to make a post with the after pictures of my painted kitchen and family room. That may be a few days off, however, as I'm just too "busy" to clean the place up enough to make it suitable for an "after" photo (busy is in quotations because we all know I'm not that busy - unless you call sleeping and playing busy - which I do).

My sister, Jen, should be at my parents house tonight. She'll be gettin' married this week. We're all excited and happy! Landon is a great guy and we'll be glad to have him as the newest member of our family. The best thing being the fact that maybe we'll get some free medical care. Maybe he'll be able to tell me why I wet myself when I get excited.

Helpers helping

Marla, Nicole, Rob and I took down my kitchen wallpaper and then painted. Here's a few photos from the adventure.

Here's my kitchen. Marla and Nicole couldn't stand it. I didn't mind it so much, but now, seeing the finished product I realize the girls were right to dislike the wallpaper.	First we needed to remove the wallpaper. This was the most time-consuming and difficult of all the stages. We tried "scoring" the wall - that didn't work. I tried to heat the wallpaper up with my iron - but that just melted stuff. So, we just had to peal off everything by muscle and skill.
We then had to remove the sticky residue from the wallpaper. This wasn't so bad, but it definitely wasn't fun. We used fabric softener and some other specialty stuff - they both worked about the same.	The girls taped up everything. I couldn't help but start painting - I was too excited to see if the color looked good rather than help tape. Thanks for taping, girls. Magically the name "Beast Master" showed up on the wall. I swear I don't know how it got there.
Here's the walls all painted. The color looks great! It really makes the white cabinets stand out.	On another day we painted the stripes. From watching a designing show I got the idea to do two stripes along the upper part of the wall to help make the room look bigger.

In another few days I'll post a couple "before-and-after" photos. The dual stripes need to be fixed a little (we used normal tape, instead of the blue tape, which tore off some of the base paint) and I'm doing a matching set of vertical stripes in my family room - I'm hoping it'll tie the rooms together. Over all, the kitchen looks 724.5% better then it used to! Thanks Marla, Nicole & Rob!

Everything is good!

Rob went in for his mri today. The doctor said everything looked good. Before we left texas, Rob had an echocardiogram done and they said they found something near the mechanical valve that could cause a problem. The mri today showed that it was just a longer stitch and nothing to worry about. Rob and i are quite happy about that. =) It was very nice to have the doctor come out and say everything looked good.
