Photo Contest!

Brian here. Most of you probably don't even know who I am. Well, I'm the dude whose website this is. :) Anyway, I'm not taking it back. Marla can keep on posting. In fact, I hope she does, because otherwise this site would probably disappear into nothing.

I'm posting, though, because I'm excited to tell ya'll about a little photo contest that a few of us are going to have. Myself and a few of my friends/family have nice'ish digital SLR cameras and we want to get some practice out of them. So, I figured a contest would be fun!

As of now, I'm thinking we'll post new photos each Monday. So look out for them! Each week those involved in the contest will be on assignment. The assignment will be random. One week might be to photograph something that represents a word/theme. Another week might be a requirement to take a photo with a certain object in view. Et cetera. It'll be good practice for us! And, I think it'll be fun for all of us to see what kind of photos we come up with.

So, starting this Monday, please check out brihogan.com and vote for your favorite photo. We won't say whose picture is whose, so there shouldn't be any bias. Vote for whatever picture you like the most. Check out the voting box on the sidebar to get an idea of how the voting will work.

As of now, the photographers are: Brian H, Brett L, Devon M, Mike H, Kent G.

The winner will get a post to explain his photo - how he did it, settings, inspiration, etc. And, of course, the winner will get the pride of knowing his photo was the favorite of the week.

My new slippers

Bela's bed making

I slept over at shannon's last night. This morning Shannon asked bela
to make her bed and this was the result! She is only three. I thought
it was so cute that she even put the pink cat on the bed. I am going
to hire her to make my bed! :)

A difficult task

I am at the vet with all three kitties. It's quite interesting! It's
the calmest I've ever seen kari actually.

Nicole slept over Friday night and she went out to the front hall and
found kari staring down at her.

NINI's

I went to Nicole's tonight. She talked on the phone the WHOLE time and I played on my computer. OK I'm kidding. I took a picture when she was talking on the phone. She made a pot roast and I brought down rolls. Devon showed us cool things on his yo-yo. It was a fun night!

Kari, kari, kari

I looked over at my bedroom window this morning and kari was licking
all the dew off the window. It was funny to me.

I am trying to keep busy. I'll try to take pictures of what I do so I
don't keep posting pictures of my cats!

Vermont corn maze

On monday my friend who I grew up next door to called and invited me to a corn maze. I was so excited she invited me. I had never been. The first picture is Jennie and I. I'm still waiting for my growth spurt to be as tall as her! We went with her roommate Tara and a friend Mel, who had a baby named sophia. It was a lot of fun. I have learned I should not go into a corn maze all by myself. I would be lost forever. Thanks Jennie, Tara and Mel!

Cousins

Today was family day. My aunt Jan stopped by and chatted for a bit. Then we headed up to my aunt Dawn and Uncle Ron's place to see my cousins! They are twins and are 15 months I think. They are pretty cute. I am holding Liam and my aunt Dawn is holding Brynn.

Elle*

My brother's wife Aubrey gave birth to a beautiful girl named elle*!
She was born yesterday October 2nd and was 7 pounds 3 ounces.

Aubrey is an amazing woman. My brother, their son and Aubrey drove out
to Minnesota for rob's funeral. They drove straight through. I think
it was 23 hours and Aubrey was 8 1/2 months pregnant!

Elle has a * because they are still unsure about the name. For more
info my brother has a website and he's pretty funny. Click on ryeblog
on the side of this website.

Foliage

Vermont's only sunny day for the entire week was yesterday. I met my dad at his work and we left to go out and take pictures of the leaves! It is the brightest foliage I've seen in years. I also haven't seen it in 5 years.. but all the Vermonters say it's the brightest they've seen in years. I paid the cows to stand in the picture. Didn't they do a great job? I took all these pictures and I'm pretty proud of them.
