Update From Here

Okay, all the old posts have been moved over to this site. Things are all back in order.

I got a message from Melissa. She talked to dad. Sounds like Rob had a little problem with breathing this morning. Since neither Melissa nor I are there, information is hazy, but it sounds like they need to run a camera down Rob's throat to be able to see what's going on. Apparently Rob went without oxygen for a little while so they're a little worried about the side effects.

As for getting updates from those who are still out in Houston: Don't expect updates to come as often. Now that Rob has his own room the family is spending more time at the hospital which means less time to run back to the hotel to make updates. So, updates may only come once or twice a day.

UPDATE: I just talked to Marla. She said, "today's been a rough day." She said that the doctor sucked out a lot of fluid from Rob's lungs. It sounds like maybe the tubes that are inside Rob to allow drainage aren't doing as good a job as they should be doing. They are replacing those tubes with some new better ones. The fluid could have been another reason that Rob's been unable to breath on his own.

As far as any side effects from lack of oxygen: Rob is sedated now so they aren't for sure, but they made it sound like he responded properly before they sedated him. Things are still a little crazy/hazy, but it sounds like the big scare is past.

Marla's mom is flying out to be with Marla and the family. That'll be nice for everyone.
